I have been longing for summer and these last few days it seems as though summer is months away. It was snowing yesterday. In April. In the UK. I despair. So if you are missing that lazy summer feeling check out ‘Joy of Romance’. This dreamy lo-fi track is enough to transport you to sunnier climes for a few minutes.
The plucky bass finds itself in a love/hate relationship with the abrasive twanging lead guitar. However, this is a lovers’ tiff in comparison to the haunting and overpowering lead vocals. There is a familiarity in this song which is offset by the unique tonality of Bent as a whole. Check out their new ‘Mattress Springs EP’. There’s a lot of potential in this band from Down Under.
